  • Ready to launch your career in data analytics?

    This 10-week training is designed for newcomers to Canada with intermediate-level English (CLB 6+) who are interested in pursuing a career path in data analytics. Through this program you will have the opportunity to strengthen your English language skills with a focus on workplace culture and professional communication, learn about the field of data analytics, in particular the roles and opportunities in which analytics can improve business results, and gain technical, hands-on skills in data analytics that will contribute to improving your technical abilities, preparing you to find employment in the data analytics sector, and helping you to succeed on the job.

    Candidates with acdemic background and/or at least one year professional experience in business management, finance, operations, information technology, engineering, mathematics and research domains would be preferred.

    The program will include 1-to-1 support in career planning, and opportunities to connect to employers through guest speakers, networking and employer events. This program is recognized by the International Institute of Business Analysis®, and the technical learning hours from this program can be applied to future certifications. The training will be delivered full-time (9.30am-3.30pm) in hybrid format, with some components online and others delivered in the classroom (2-3 days a week on-site at 791 St. Clair Ave. W.).

  • Through this program you will:

    • Strengthen your English reading, writing, listening and reading skills with a focus on Canadian workplace language and communication

    • Develop a portfolio of data analytics sector-specific work search tools: customized resume and cover letters, LinkedIn profile, interview questions and answers

    • Apply analytics best practices, approaches, language, and standards generally applied across Business and Data Analytics vocations

    • Leverage analytics tools and technologies to perform analysis and visualization of data

    • Connect with potential employers in the data analytics sector

    • Gain experience using software applications such as RStudio, Python, SQLite and Tableau

    • Must be an adult immigrant (18+) who is a resident of Ontario and permitted to work in Ontario

    • Naturalized Canadian citizen, permanent resident, Convention refugee or a refugee claimant; or approved as a permanent resident, or their dependant, but who has not yet been processed to receive permanent resident status (e.g., individuals approved under the Ontario Immigrant Provincial Nominee program or the Canadian Experience Class); or

    • Academic background and/or at least one year professional experience in business management, finance, operations, information technology, engineering, mathematics and research domains would be preferred.

    • Intermediate to advanced English speakers (CLB level 6+) interested in improving their English and pursuing a career or further education/training in data analytics.
