Are
you an internationally educated teacher (IET) who wants to bring your education
and experience to Ontario’s classrooms?
Teach in Ontario is here to help you by offering the following services:
Information and counselling
If you need help starting the teacher certification process with the
Ontario College of Teachers or would
like job search support, please contact Golnaz Fatemi by
e-mail
to arrange for a personal consultation.
You may access this service at Skills for Change, before applying to the
College.
If you would like to participate in the services that follow, please submit an
application form on the
Teach in Ontario website.
Occasional Teaching Workshop
The workshop will provide you with the information that you need to be a
successful occasional teacher.
You are eligible to participate in this workshop, if you have applied to the
College.
Professional Coaching
You will be paired with an experienced educator who will serve as your Coach as
you prepare for employment in teaching.
You are eligible to participate in this service, if you are certified by the
College.
Classroom Immersion
You will be placed in an Ontario classroom for 10 days so that you can observe
the dynamics, interact with staff and students and learn best practices. You
will also have the opportunity to teach with the support and feedback of an
experienced teacher.
You are eligible to participate in this service, if you are certified by the
College.
Orientation Course
This eight-week course will provide you with in-depth information about the role
of the teacher in Ontario’s classrooms.
You are eligible to participate in this course, if you are certified by the
College.

who will have more information about your next steps.
Teach in Ontario is a partnership consisting of LASI World Skills, the Ontario
College of Teachers, the Ontario Teachers’ Federation, Skills for Change and
Windsor Women Working With Immigrant Women. The program is funded by the
Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada through Citizenship and
Immigration Canada.
