The Mentoring for Employment Program assists internationally-trained professional newcomers in their search for suitable employment by matching them with mentors with similar professional experience.


Newcomer Professionals at Work
(NPW)
Newcomer Professionals at Work offers mentoring, paid internship, and job placement for the unemployed internationally trained immigrants who are looking for a job in their profession.


Teacher Language Upgrading Course
This language upgrading course is for Internationally Educated Teachers (IET) and who want to improve their level of English in order to teach in the Ontario Public School system.


Trade Wins Support Program
In partnership with Humber College, this program assists internationally trained industrial electricians, construction and maintenance electricians and millwrights to pass the Certificate of Qualification exam, obtain their license and find job in their field.



Language Training

Accounting for Women
The ESL/Accounting and Computer Skills for Immigrant Women program is intended for immigrant women who speak English as a Second Language and have little accounting or office experience. If you have an education in accounting from other countries but have never worked in the field, and are changing your career to accounting from other fields, this program is for you.


Board of Education Classes
In these classes, students are taught English using the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Classes are offered at the literacy, beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.


Enhanced Language Training (ELT) for Engineers
This Enhanced Language Training (ELT) program for Engineers, Engineering Technicians and Technologists is designed to enable internationally trained engineers to increase their communicative proficiency in English from CLB 7 to CLB 9 level. The ELT program will also assist engineers in finding work in their related fields through job development and mentoring support.

Skills for Change is licensed to administer the Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT). The CLBPT is a streamlined assessment instrument that is an adaptable, efficient means to place adult learners in ESL programs.


Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)
LINC is a basic to advanced language and settlement program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Skills for Change offers full time LINC 3, 4, 4-5 (conversation) and 5 daytime classes. We also offer level 6-7 classes in the evenings and Saturdays.

TechSkills
TechSkills specializes in hands-on, instructor-led training in the latest software applications in the areas of Accounting, Microsoft Office applications, IT, Engineering, Project Management, and Quality Assurance.

Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment
Skills for Change is licensed to administer the Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test (CLBPT). The CLBPT is a streamlined assessment instrument that is an adaptable, efficient means to place adult learners in ESL programs.

Certificate in Advanced Technology for Accounting and Finance (ATAF)
ATAF is a full-time programs that provide you with multiple skills that will prepare you for employment in accounting, finance and management-support positions.


Sector-specific Information Sessions

Free Sector Specific Information Sessions are held monthly for foreign-trained engineers, engineering technicians, technologists, accountants, and teachers trained outside Canada.

Settlement Services for Newcomers
Our Settlement Services assist individuals and families who have moved to Canada and need orientation, information and referral to services in order to settle and integrate in Canadian society.
