Employment Ontario

Continuous intake

Employment Ontario is an individualized, flexible service that can be customized to fit your specific needs. There is a wide range of resources available to all jobseekers:

  • Meet with an information and referral counsellor for assessment and advice
  • Participate in a week-long employment preparation course to hone your jobseeking skills, build your resume, and get ready for interview success
  • Work one-on-one with an employment counsellor, who can identify the skills and workplace experience required to excel in your career, and provide guidance and advice in developing your resumé and job search strategy
  • Work directly with a job developer who can connect you to employers and job opportunities and can help you prepare for job interviews
  • Get assistance with government programs such as: Second Career, Ontario Self-Employment Benefit and Apprenticeship

What will I learn?

  • Employer training incentives are available for on-the-job training
  • Gain workplace experience through a paid internship
  • Utilize Test to Hire, a program that allows you to test a job and prove your capabilities to an employer
  • Build your resume with a Work Experience Placement, which can lead to permanent employment
  • Connect with an employment mentor, who can help you gain insights into your profession (this program is part of the TRIEC Mentoring Partnership)
