Our stories include immigrant women
Findings from the Gender-Based Analysis (GBA) identified eight barriers to leadership : language and communication, looking for opportunity, unemployment, lack of confidence, cultural differences, working survival jobs, finances, refugee status. Using these 8 identifiers, Skills for Change has contracted four immigrant women, leaders in their communities who will act as our Leaders in Residence for 2013/2014. Through their innovative and socially aware programs will bring about solutions to overcoming the barriers to leadership for other immigrant women.
