Language Instruction for Newcomers to
Canada (LINC)
is a basic to high Intermediate language and
settlement program funded by Citizenship and
Immigration Canada. Skills for Change offers
full time LINC 2, 3, 4 and 5 classes.
Each class is eight weeks long. A
childminding service for children ages 2 to
5 years old is available. Students are
assessed according to the Canadian Language
Benchmarks. Newcomers have many questions
about life in Canada. Our curriculum
includes practical every day English,
Canadian cultural awareness and Computer
Assisted Language Learning outcomes.
Students learn language skills needed to
shop, access health care and education, use
the telephone, find suitable housing, look
for a job, and much more.
