Do you require extra Finance/Accounting or Administrative support? Consider a Skills for Change placement student. Next round of placements begins in June
What's a student placement?
Skills for Change specializes in programs & services for internationally trained professionals; including bridging programs for Finance/Accounting and Administrative professionals.
Students complete 21 weeks of technical training to ensure their skills are up-to-date and then have the chance to put these skills into practice during a five-week work placement. These placements also provide valuable Canadian experience and allow students to make connections in their field.
Our students bring high levels of education and experience from their home countries and strong communication skills. They need Canadian experience to become competitive in the job market. We work to provide placement opportunities that are beneficial for both student and employer.
What’s in it for you?
- Access to an enthusiastic volunteer with a strong set of skills. Our students can help you cover a temporary staffing need, tackle that project you never seem to get round to, or support your staff in day to days tasks, saving time and maximizing effort.
- The opportunity to assist an internationally trained professional in bridging the gap to employment. Provide Canadian experience and give them a chance to earn a reference. On average 70% of our clients find employment in their field within 6 months of graduating.
- A chance to “test-to- hire” for those with hiring needs. Avoid risk by evaluating an individual’s skills and organizational fit over a five-week period before making a decision.
Please note: There is no expectation to hire. These placements are an educational component of the program and an opportunity for our students to gain exposure to Canadian workplace culture and put learning into practice.
