Enhanced Language Training for Engineers |
|
Enhanced Language Training (ELT) program for
Engineers, Engineering Technicians and Technologists is designed to enable
internationally trained engineers to
increase their communicative proficiency in
English from CLB 7 to CLB 9 level. The ELT
program will also assist and support
engineers in finding work in their related
fields.
Program components include:
•
Language
Instruction and Job Search Components
• Improving your listening, speaking, reading
and writing skills
• Increasing your technical vocabulary
• Working on English grammar and pronunciation
• Enhancing participants knowledge of Canadian
workplace and overall cultural understanding
• Job Search and Developmental Support
• Working directly with a Job Developer to find
employment or a Work Experience Placement
• Working with a Mentor of the same, or
similar, work background to improve language
skills and have a focused job search
You can apply for this program if:
•
You are an internationally educated
Engineer, Engineering Technician or
Technologist
• Your level of English proficiency is
preventing you from finding the position you
deserve
• You need Canadian work experience
• You are either a permanent resident or a
convention refugee
